Hardness Testing Sample Holders and Anvils

Sample Holders and Anvils
Precision in hardness testing starts with the right support through hardness testing sample holders and anvils. Secure specimens, maintain stability during testing, and ensure the test surface is perpendicular to the indenter, guaranteeing trouble-free testing. Buehler’s product offering and capabilities may extend beyond these listed. Please contact our lab team if you need assistance selecting an appropriate hardness testing accessory for your application.
Vickers and Knoop Sample Holders
Self Leveling Vises

One, four, or six fold vises for round, mounted samples and equipped with magnetic stops for added ease of use with motorized XY stages.
Universal Leveling Vise

Designed to hold tapered pieces, wires, and mounted samples.
EZ Clamp

Single mount canister acommodating a selection of mount diameters with different top plates. Unload and load samples onto the stage with ease through its magnetic design.
Precision Vise

Designed with a maximum opening of 45mm for small specimen hardness testing.
GP-HDT Holder

Adjustable fixture for use with Grinding and Polishing central force specimen holders. Fixture directly accepts specimen holder and allows for multi-sample hardness testing
without the need for unloading and reloading individual samples. Also use with UH4000 series.
Rockwell Anvils
Anvils fit RH2150, R754, VH1102, VH1202, VH1150, and legacy testers with 19mm pinholes.
Flat Anvils

Used to support flat specimens and mounted samples perpendicular to the indenter.
V Anvils

For samples with cylindrical shapes, such as rods or hard tubing.
Anvil Cylindrons

Designed to support cylindrical work.
Eyeball Anvil

Designed to test pieces with a slight taper.
Pedestal Spot Anvil

Used with small parts and sheet metal when minimal support is required.
Diamond Spot Anvil

Recommended for supporting thin, soft sheet metal *should only be used with Rockwell superficial scales.
Narrow Tip Anvil

For specialized applications to test irregularly shaped materials.
Gooseneck Anvil

Designed to test the outside diameter of thin wall tubing, or for external testing of springs and coils.
Brinell and Universal Anvils
Anvils fit UH4000 seres, BH3000, and legacy testers with 25mm pinholes.
Flat Anvils

Used to support flat specimens and mounted samples perpendicular to the indenter.
V Anvils

For samples with cylindrical shapes, such as rods or hard tubing.
Spot Anvils

Designed to work with small workpieces.
Planoflex

Auto-leveling anvil with flat, 60mm diameter.
