Todos los años se entrega el premio “ASM Metallographic Award” a la mejor publicación. Se selecciona un grupo de 15 jueces entre los comités de asuntos técnicos y publicaciones de IMS, Buehler y el Consejo Asesor Editorial de la revista científica de IMS Materials Characterization. Los jueces evalúan los artículos publicados en un volumen completo de esta revista científica. En la Convención Anual de IMS, se entrega una placa conmemorativa y un premio en efectivo de USD 1.000, patrocinado por Buehler, a los autores de la publicación incluida en el volumen más reciente de la revista científica por el mejor manejo en la práctica de las artes metalográficas.

Premio Buehler Technical Paper of Merit

Todos los años se entrega el premio “IMS Buehler Technical Paper of Merit Award”. El comité de este premio evalúa los artículos incluidos en los volúmenes del año anterior de la revista científica de IMS “Metallography, Microstructure, and Analysis (MMA)”. El comité está conformado por al menos un representante de la Junta de IMS, de Buehler y del Consejo Asesor Editorial de MMA. El miembro del Comité de Buehler se desempeña como Presidente. En la Convención Anual de IMS, se entrega una placa conmemorativa y un premio en efectivo de USD 1.000, patrocinado por Buehler, al autor principal de la publicación ganadora por el mejor manejo en la práctica de las artes metalográficas.
