#### Wilson Hardness Legacy Testers

The Wilson® hardness brand of hardness testers was originally known as the Wilson Mechanical Instrument Company. Here Stanley Rockwell and founder Charles H. Wilson introduced the Rockwell hardness tester, an industry standard. Later, Wilson became the home of the legendary Tukon line of micro-indentation testers – renowned for Knoop and Vickers testing. These early inventions revolutionized industry and paved the way for Wilson today, with innovations that improve usability and allow for full connectivity and automation like the DiaMet software. #### Reicherter Hardness Legacy Testers

Reicherter produced Vickers, Rockwell, Brinell and Universal hardness testers that were known globally and manufactured in Germany with sturdy machine construction, maximized testing accuracy and ease of use and maintenance. They were used to test crankshafts, camshafts, engine blocks and other large workpieces. They were some of the earliest testers to be integrated into high throughput production lines of larger and heavier test pieces.

#### PRECIDUR Hardness Testing Software

![Precidur Legacy Hardness Testing Software](https://buehler.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Precidur.png) In 2008, Buehler’s product portfolio was expanded to include PRECIDUR, a state of the art hardness testing software system complementing the Wilson Hardness product line with its renowned flexibility and automatic Vickers/Knoop measurement capabilities. PRECIDUR was developed in Germany by Fritz Müller GmbH in the early 1990s and was used on many micro-hardness testers from various manufacturers. It allowed users to control micro-hardness testers via computer and used a camera for automatic indent measurements. Its programming features enabled full-automatic patterning.
