El corte en h\u00famedo producir\u00e1 un acabado superficial m\u00e1s suave que el corte en seco. El uso de refrigerante tambi\u00e9n protege contra los da\u00f1os superficiales causados por el sobrecalentamiento y las tensiones mec\u00e1nicas. Es importante reducir los da\u00f1os durante el seccionado. Los da\u00f1os mec\u00e1nicos, como las fracturas, pueden penetrar profundamente en la estructura y alargar los pasos posteriores de preparaci\u00f3n. Se ofrecen dos tipos principales de herramientas de corte: Abrasivas y de precisi\u00f3n.<br \/><br \/>El seccionamiento agresivo puede causar da\u00f1os mec\u00e1nicos y t\u00e9rmicos, por lo que debe evitarse. Por este motivo, no se recomienda el corte abrasivo. El seccionado de precisi\u00f3n proporciona una excelente calidad de la superficie de corte y puede utilizarse para seccionar cerca de la zona objetivo. Tambi\u00e9n pueden utilizarse fresadoras para seccionar PCB en cupones.<br \/><br \/>Algunos centros de fabricaci\u00f3n incorporan zonas de prueba en sus placas. Estas zonas se utilizan para comprobar la calidad. A veces se incorporan a estos m\u00e9todos papeles de cada tama\u00f1o de abrasivo disponible. La preparaci\u00f3n manual es menos eficaz que los m\u00e9todos automatizados y su calidad var\u00eda en funci\u00f3n del operario.
